Let's Go blue devils!

welcome to villa grove cusd #302

Our mission, as a school district, is to provide a safe environment to enable students to think critically, solve problems, make decisions, and develop necessary skills for productive citizenship and a lifetime of learning.

Return to School COVID Mitigation Plan

I know this plan is long awaited but we wanted to avoid the multiple plan changes we experienced last year due to frequent changes in COVID guidance. This plan is not what we had hoped to offer in regards to masking. We were prepared with a plan that incorporated following the latest guidance released by the CDC. However, at 2:30 PM today, Governor Pritzker announced a universal indoor mask mandate for all individuals in P-12 schools.

Our school plan will be reviewed regularly and updated as guidance from our governing health organizations are modified. As always, we are committed to providing the best educational experience we can in a safe environment. This document will also be posted on the school website and social media. We welcome feedback on the plan.

We are excited to welcome students back and remain optimistic for a great school year!

Allergy Guidelines Notice

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Here at Villa Grove Schools, we pride ourselves in educating and protecting each of our students to the best of our abilities.  Because of this we are implementing some new safeguards for our students with food allergies.

There will be no food allowed in classrooms in the high school or junior high. Students must eat in designated areas only or, if they bring peanut products of any kind, eat in the sections of the cafeteria that are assigned for peanuts.

In the elementary, students may bring in treats for special occasions (e.g., birthday or holiday parties), but they must be store-bought, labeled, and checked in at the office by office staff.  Please avoid peanut products when bringing in snacks. Each teacher will send home a letter if their class has a student with an allergy.  At lunch, students will sit in the assigned sections of the cafeteria for peanuts if they bring any kind of peanut product.

Thank you for caring about all our students and following our new guidelines to keep everyone safe.  Remember, every child is someone’s child and we educate them all.

Sincerely,

Villa Grove Administration
